When working with my small groups, I’ve often heard how helpful it is to members when we look at restaurant menus to decide how we would approach it while implementing the Migraine Miracle Program.
We worked through this exercise as a group when one of the group members (Related: Hear her story here.) had plans to go to a celebratory meal chosen by a family member. After scouring the menu and making a plan for the best items to order and ingredient questions to pose, we ultimately concluded that the best strategy for that particular restaurant (which was vegetarian) would be to eat some protein before going and then order the salads/sides that we’d identified as the best choices once there.
So, after understanding how helpful this exercise can be for our community, we are going to make this a recurring feature in our Substack newsletter.
Today, we’re going to start with a menu for a restaurant Josh and I recently visited. We invite you to take a look at the menu and tell us which options you think would be best for those who are following The Migraine Miracle Program.
What questions would you ask your server to help you make your decision?
Are there some dishes that you’d recommend for the earlier phases (1-2) versus the later phases (3-4)? (Related: Take this quiz to find out what phase you’re in.)
And now…here is the menu:
Comment below to let us know your thoughts and we’ll share what we actually ordered in a few days once you’ve had time to answer!
(Is there a menu you’d like us to put under the microscope? If so, send it to jenny@mymigrainemiracle.com and we’ll consider it for a future edition!)
This has been my life for the past 3 weeks in Europe (with the added fun of using Google translate.) Lots of funny mix ups. Italy has a great numerical system to indicate things like gluten, nuts, dairy etc on the menu which has been particularly helpful with the language barrier.
I had completely forgotten that group planning session until you mentioned it. It was great to go into the restaurant with a realistic plan for a stress-free dinner. What I remember most was a fun dinner with my family!
Thanks for sharing your questions and selections! We will share our picks very soon!
